Today, I am fifteen weeks pregnant with our first little one. When we found out we were expecting, for me, it was both the most exciting and terrifying day since Warren and I were married. This is definitely a HUGE change. I do tend to love adventure and new things. However, I've never been a mommy before. Weird. I'm a mommy! This is an entirely new thing attached to a lifetime of entirely new things to come. Several of my dear friends are also adding to their families and have just announced the wonderful news. Many have shared Psalm 127:3. Reading the psalm over, I am struck with the preciousness of the life the Lord has formed inside of me.
Psalm 127
Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to His beloved sleep.
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to His beloved sleep.
3 Behold, children are a gift from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
the fruit of the womb a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
The Lord has built our house. He has watched over us. He gives us rest. He has given us the gift and reward of a child! We are so blessed.
