I pray all is well with you. Thank you, to those of you who have kept in contact with me and are praying for me. It is more encouraging than you can ever know. At times, the Lord has given me the lifeline I need through an email or message. You are gems. I praise the Lord for you, praying for you often.
"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." - Isaiah 26:3

Themes of Worship
It seems to be inescapable! Not that I really want to escape worshiping Jesus. Because, I don't. In fact, I am more convinced with every day that passes that I am made to love a worship the King of kings and Lord of lords. Anyway...Sweetly enough, I have found myself, once again, on the worship team, here. Apparently our leaders here were told ahead of time that both Jessica, my teammate, and I could sing. We began practicing with the band at our Betel church almost immediately. The afternoon of our second practice, they informed us that we would be singing in church that night. Haha. No warning...just go with it. We had a blast. Due to a shortage of microphones, we stood behind the podium and used the speaker's mic together. It was a laugh. But both Jess and I are settling in to the realization that this is the Lord's doing. As for myself, I just have to laugh and thank the Lord as it seems that wherever I go, He's called me to sing. I pray that, whether I lift my voice in song or in speech, I honor Jesus who has given me life and breath. I love the way He works!
Cumbre: Signs and Wonders
"Cumbre" is Spanish for "summit." In Betel, it is the name given to the gathering of all the Spanish and British Betels together for a time of worship, prayer, and the move of the Holy Spirit. This last weekend, we hosted just such a gathering. Throughout our time together, we many people healed, many baptized in the Holy Spirit, and the miraculous provision of the Lord. One man, whose wrist had been smashed and permanently crippled, suddenly felt a grinding inside his wrist while another was praying for him. He now ha full use of His wrist again. Multiple people who suffered from infirmities in their feet can now walk without pain (of which I am one, praise Jesus!). Some were healed of HIV. And this is just the beginning. God has just started here. It is one of the most beautiful things to see, when a people repents, humble themselves and pray. Jesus is faithful. Through this, I am learning just how eager He is to give good gifts to His children. He loves it.
In the House
The change in the women's house is hard to keep up with. Women come in and women leave. Although, we have been blessed not to have the core family of the house not altered too drastically in the past month and a half. I am finding that the longer I am here, the more in love I fall with these women. They are truly my sisters. Just in case anybody has the idea that I am here to make them better, allow me to say that I do minister to them, pray for them, love on them. And some need it more than others. But Jesus is their Savior. I am only the one of His humble servants. Many of the women in this house serve Him, too.
In the midst of much change, there is much opposition and difficulty. We need the strength that only comes from God to stand in the midst of the storms of broken, and often angry lives.
Daily Flying
My most common occupation here is flyers. We go out in teams to "fly" around areas throughout the city of Birmingham. The flyers advertise the services in which the people in Betel work in order to pay for their rehabilitation and housing. We refinish furniture and we do landscaping. The women, for the most part, go door to door posting the flyers so that Betel can keep going. It's a tough job, walking all day. But hey, somebody's gotta do it. And it's definitely not without it's fun times.
Please pray for strength, emotionally, spiritually, physically, mentally for our team. Also, please pray that we would continue to be sensitive to the voice of the Lord as we represent Him in this place. I am so blessed to be making disciples, to be loving the ones Jesus loves, and following the God I love.
Grace and Peace,
Katelyn
