This was taken when Dana J., our site leader, took us to visit London. We are at Tower Bridge, here. It was awesome to get to see the places I have only imagined before. This was so huge for me. I love England.
A House FULL of Women?
Yes, it is true. There are currently thirteen women, including me and Jess, under our snug little English roof. I am so thankful for each one of these dear ones. While it is quite "manic," as the British say. There are anywhere from two to four people to a bedroom and bathroom. The floors of the old house creak and groan loudly. But it's a fine old Victorian era style home. Rising early every morning, my day begins with a hot cup of tea (milk and two sugars, please) and a good hour of spending time with Jesus. Then comes breakfast. We take responsibilities at every meal to cook and clean. During the day we all work hard, whether we are walking around the city posting flyers for Betel's Landscaping Business and Furniture shops, staying in the house and scouring every surface thoroughly, or cleaning and maintaining the church. Our evenings often consist of joining the rest of the local Betel family for Bible studies. Our days are full of just being church...I teach and am taught. I listen and speak. I am asking the Lord to continue to unfold His purpose for bringing me here. Even now, He is mightily at work in my heart. I am so blessed to hunger for Him. While I might post pictures of my new friends here, I feel it would not be respectful of them to do so without their permission. Thus, please bear with me and continue in prayer with me as the Lord leads me forward.
Culture and Shock
I am definitely out of my comfort zone on this one. But man! This is the best kind of uncomfortable! Daily I need the reminder of "why am I doing this, again?" And daily, the Lord opens my eyes to the call He's given to all who follow Him to love Jesus, love people, and extend His Kingdom. I love it! I only pray that He would continue to move and grow us, here, in power and the things of the Spirit. Dreams and visions are already taking place. And the Betel Church is very Spirit-led. And as usual, I so long to see more of the Lord in this place...so I ask for the miraculous.
The steadfast love of the Lord NEVER ceases. His mercies never come to an end! May He continue to work in us as we walk together, even while separated by miles, toward that day when we will see Him face to face!
He is coming quickly!
Love,
Katelyn
